Dinner Outfit

Okay, okay I am so disappointed with myself at the major lack of blogging from me! It's been so busy with the end of the school year that the second I get home, I am far too exhausted to do anything, let alone blog. Well, I have one more week of work then I am off for summer break until end of August, leaving me plenty of time to blog! Here is an outfit I wore over the weekend to a dinner with friends. Happy Monday : )

Mint and Denim

Well, it's officially feeling like summer. I only have a week and a half left with my students before they are out for summer break. This is the busiest time of year for me, hence the lack of blog posts. Once this week is over I will be able to get back to blogging on the regular! This is the outfit I wore yesterday for lunch and some running around.

Spring Sandals

I love that sandal season is here! I have compiled a few sandals that I need to add to my shoe collection. The best part is that almost all are under $30!

Peplum Love

I am so happy peplum style has come into my life! It's flattering on most body types and goes well with jeans, pants, leggings, skirts, you name it. This is an outfit I wore to dinner the other night. It's a long weekend here in Canada! Enjoy your weekend!

OOTD

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there! I'm a mommy to my fur baby, no actual babies yet! Even though she's a pup, I love her like she is my baby! Yesterday my mom came over to our house and my husband and I cooked her dinner. Well my husband did most of the cooking, since he is a much better cook than me. I tend to cook more healthier meals, though! This is the outfit I wore yesterday. I purchased this bracelet on Saturday at Joe Fresh. I have been on the look-out for one for ages. I almost bought one online from JewelMint, but I'm glad I waited. This one from Joe Fresh was half the price and just as cute. On another note, I'm going to try and take my photos elsewhere in my house. The lighting in my office is just not working for me!

Must Haves- Swimwear Edition

I have been so busy this last week, I haven't had a chance to do a new blog post. It was my husband's birhday on Thursday. So we went for dinner that night and then had a BBQ on Friday night with friends. The weather was so beautiful this weekend, recording breaking actually! It felt like summer and I spent most of my time outside. I was able to finish my front garden and relax on my deck. This made me realize that it may technically be spring, but summer temps are here and I need to get summer ready with some new swimwear. I did a collaboration of a few pieces I have my eye on. I can't complain that we are having a record breaking heat wave, as it is just another excuse to go shopping :)

Floral Denim

Happy Tuesday! Even though it's only Tuesday, this week has been flying by! I'm posting an outfit I wore to a casual lunch with friends on Sunday. It was warm enough to break out my sandals! Summer is on the horizon :) I have been trying to work on the lighting of my photos, as the iphone camera can only do so much. I'm still playing around, so you'll have to excuse the flash!

Maxi Skirt Love

I am so in love with maxi skirts for spring/summer. I find maxi skirts to be my go-to item in my closet and I can't seem to get enough. I've been going a little crazy with my shopping lately and maxi skirts have been collecting in my closet. Oh well, I love how comfy and cute they are. They make an outfit look so put together, yet they are so easy. Just pair it with a tank or t-shirt and you're ready. I've compiled a few I have my eye on.

Flowers & Maxi Skirt

Wow, I can't believe I'm blogging 2 days in a row! I am so proud of myself :) I promised myself I would focus more time to blogging. It has been hard as of late, since its nearing the end of the school year and this is the busiest time for myself and my students! I'm looking forward to summer break, with lots of relaxing and BBQ's on our lovely deck. It's amazing in the summer because it has full sun from dawn to dusk. Here is Wednesday's work outfit.

A touch of leopard

Happy Tuesday! I have been so busy the past few weeks that I have been finding it difficult to keep up to date on my blogging! I have promised myself that I will make more of an effort. This is what I wore to work on this lovely Tuesday :)

Lace Love

I am madly in love with this lace, grey sweatshirt from F21. I purchased it a few weeks ago, but haven't had the chance to wear it yet, since it's a tad on the thicker side. The weather has been so nice and my classroom gets quite warm during the day. I find it hard to wear warmer sweaters without over heating mid-day. Today the weather was "supposed" to be a little cooler and I figured today would be the perfect day to wear this beauty. Well, I was actually a little too warm, since the weather forecast was wrong! It ended up being quite nice today. I still love the sweater, even if it is better for cooler days. I'm happy with the purchase and received many compliments :)

Sunshine and Flowers

It was beautiful here today! The sun was shining and I was able to take my students outside for their last block. My students love when they are able to go outside and do their work. Personally, I enjoy it even more. The vitamin D puts me in such a good mood! These floral leggings I wore to work today, also put me in a good mood!

Green with Envy

I love the color green for spring. It definitely is one of my top colors this season. I wore this outfit on a dinner date with my husband. I would wear this outfit to work, but with black tights, as it is a tad on the short side for work attire. I bought this lace, scallop skirt from Forever 21 last week, but I see it is sold out online. Anyways, I thought I would do a quick post on my love of green.

Spring has arrived

This Easter long weekend has been absolutely beautiful. It actually feels more like Summer than Spring. I've been in complete heaven enjoying the sunshine and warm temps outside. It has been exciting to bust out all of my Spring/Summer dresses all weekend long. I went for lunch yesterday and wore a light sun dress, however, we were sitting on the patio and I was still too hot. Today I went for another lunch with some girlfriends and I wore this royal blue maxi. I paired it with a faux leather crop jacket, in case it was a little cooler sitting on the patio by the water. Well I definitely did not need the jacket. It was so warm out. I can't complain though, as I have been waiting for this weather. Here's hoping that it lasts a little longer.

OOTD

The weather here has been beautiful. Finally Spring has arrived. I mean I can't complain as our winter here was very mild. No snow for us, not even one day. I was secretly hoping for a snow day though, as my work usually closes when we get snow (I work at a school). Our city is one of the few cities in Canada that rarely gets snow, and when it does the whole city usually shuts down because we are so unprepared! So now that winter is behind us and Summer is just around the corner, I've been pulling out a lot of my Spring/Summer pieces. They sure brighten up a day. This is my outfit I wore to work today. I am really into blouses. They are so comfy and go with everything!

Weekend Outfit

Well, I must say I sure have been slacking on my blog posts as of late. The hubby and I were away on vacation all last week and I just could not find the time to squeeze in any blogging. Well I promised myself that from now on, I will be more devoted to my lovely blog. This outfit I wore last night for a friend's birthday dinner. I'm sure you can tell that I am a tad obsessed with the blazer, as I have worn it many time before. It just seems to go with everything! The lighting in my office is driving me crazy, I can't seem to get it right!

Pre-Vacation Shopping

I’m heading to Palm Springs next week with my husband for a much needed vacay of sun, shopping and relaxation. Which means I have been on a mission for new warmer weather outfits. While travelling I love to pack my suitcase full of dresses, in particular maxi dresses. They are my go-to when travelling, because they are super comfy and can be dressed up or down simply by changing your accessories and/or shoes. They also take up minimal space in your suitcase, leaving more room for shoes and makeup! This blog post is dedicated to some of the cute maxis' I came across during my last minute splurge on vacation dresses. Ah...more purchases to add to my severe addiction to summer dresses.

Polka Dots and Studs

I love this top because it incorporates two of my favorite trends: polka dots and studs. It is hard to see in the picture, but the shoulders of this top have studs. I also am OBSESSED with these Zara pumps, they are so comfy and cute and also have studs on the back. I love how pointy toe pumps are back, I missed them dearly :)

On another note. I am so excited that as of March 6th, Canada can finally shop online at Zara. I know pretty much everywhere else in the world could EONS ago, but I'm pretty excited for us Canadians! My credit card, on the other hand, may not be as excited.

Must Haves

I have been so busy lately that I haven’t been able to do a blog post. I was away at a conference most of last week. However, I was able to squeeze in a little bit of shopping while away, which inspired this post. My newest obsession for Spring is the color mint. I don’t know what it is about this color, but as soon as I walk into a store and see anything in mint, I’m immediately drawn to it. I love it for Spring, as well as Summer. You have a solid 4-5 months of wear. These are just a few of the items I have my eye on:
1. ASOS
2.Tobi
6. Lulu's
7. Forever21 (This comes in mint)

Monday Blahs

I hate Mondays. With a passion. I know I'm not alone on this, but Mondays are by far the worst day of the week. To help beat the Monday blues I'm heading to Pilates. I don't mind working out, but I find it extra hard to get motivated on Mondays. Personally, I would much rather cozy up on my couch and watch the Bachelor. However, having cute workout clothes helps get me a little more motivated. My Nike Free Runners are so comfy and cute, that they brighten up my gloomy winter Mondays.

Valentine's Dinner Outfit

I'm a little delayed on posting my Valentine's day outfit, as I have been out of town the last couple days. Yesterday, my husband and I went on a quick getaway to Vancouver. We went to the spa, ate lots of yummy food and did some shopping. A little R&R is exactly what I needed. Anyways, for Valentine's dinner we went to a beautiful restaurant on the water with another couple. It was a nice to get dressed up and enjoy a night out.
This blazer is a recent purchase and I adore it. I wore it the other
day with another outfit. It is so versatile.

Cozy Sweater Love

I am head over heels in love with this sweater. It is so warm and cozy, yet still looks great dressed up or down. I first spotted this sweater on pinterest, and it took me a while to track down where to purchase it. I finally found it at Sheinside. Sheinside has a ton of cute, affordable clothing. It also has free shipping! I paired it with my favorite burgundy pants and black ankle boots.

Monday Must Haves

As the weather here is beginning to resemble more spring than winter, I've noticed I've been daydreaming of warmer weather. Not only does Spring bring beautiful flowers, longer days and sunshine, but it brings fashions in beautiful Spring colors. Even though it is still February, I've already been eyeing different pieces I plan on adding to my Spring wardrobe!

Gold Spikes

I love how spikes are popping up everywhere. You are seeing them on clothes, accessories, jewelry and even shoes. I'm a huge fan of spikes, because I think it adds just that little bit of edge to your outfit. I paired the gold spikes with some gold accessories. I'm usually a silver or white gold fan, however this outfit needed gold. I must say I'm loving the gold and will be incorporating it into more outfits.

Healthy Tuesday Night Dinner

I'm a huge fan of Greek Salad, but I find just a Greek Salad for dinner will leave me still hungry. I decided to do a spin on a Greek Salad and add a few other ingredients. I added quinoa, which is a healthy grain like seed. It reminds me of a rice. The health benefits alone are worth it to add to any dish. The fact that it taste yummy is an added bonus. Quinoa is high in protein, calcium, iron, vitamin E, vitamin B and many amino acids. Not only is this meal super easy and quick to make, but the hubby loves it too. Which is hard to find healthy, vegetarian meals that he will actually eat. Here's my recipe:

Ingredients:
1 green pepper thinly sliced
10 cherry or grape tomatoes cut into quarters
1/2 red onion thinly sliced
1 avocado cut into small pieces
1/2 cucumber cut into quarters
1 cup uncooked quinoa
feta
Dressing:
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
1/2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
1 tsp. parsley
pinch of salt
1 tsp. oregano

Directions:
Cook quinoa according to directions,
allow quinoa to cool,
add all ingredients in a large bowl,
add dressing and mix together,
divide onto plates and add crumbled feta on top

To feed my online shopping addiction even more, TopBox and Glam Bag by Ipsy have
now entered into my life. If you don't know what these amazing little gems
are, you need to check them out. It is a monthly subscription that delivers sample and
full-size beauty products right to your door. How it works is you subscribe to a monthly
subscription (that you can cancel at anytime) and the packages get shipped right to your
door. The best part is you have no idea what's inside. Not only that, but they are both around $14 a month and they ship to Canada. TopBox is a Canadian company. Ipsy is based in the U.S, but they are nice enough to not forgot about us up here in the "Great White North". They ship to Canada for $4.95. The Glam Bag is $10 a month, so with shipping $14.95. I still think it's a killer deal, but maybe that's just me?
Here is a look into both my boxes for the month of January.

This is my Glam Bag by IPSY.
Included in the bag:

An Ergonomic Crease Eyeshadow brush
A full size bottle of Red Nailpolish by Nailtini
A travel size hair spray by Big Sexy Hair
A yummy smelling lotion by Pacifica
And my all time fave a sample size Josie Maran Argan Oil
(I have the big bottle which is perfect timing because I am almost out of mine)

TopBox
Included:
All Clinique items.
Eye Makeup remover
Toner
Serum- sample size
Eyeshadow

Overall, I was happy with both. I'm looking forward to February's! I will be sure to do a blog post when they arrive.
